isolated bloom

my azaleas are in full bloom and though each year i marvel at their beauty, photographically, their thick green stands in competition with their vibrant pink.  this year, the azaleas on the side of my house grew thin and wispy, a disappointing result of washing the house last summer.  as it turns out, their flowering is very sweet and, given a bit more isolation, the blooms that so make me smile pop just right!

image: azalea bloom shot against the green and aqua of my house.  late afternoon sun, diffused by trees.
