you pick.
Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 10:29PM i went with my friend and her two little girls to pick strawberries on friday. the sun was bold and warm and the red, ready berries were visually inspiring as well as ridiculously delicious. some i sliced to serve atop angel food cake with whipped cream, some i shared with next-door neighbors, and some i quartered to freeze for spring and summer smoothies. such a sweet experience all the way around and it set me about focusing on the things that brought my photographic focus to food in the first place... reverence for the growing process and, of course, the beauty nature brings to everything she holds.

image: this bucket of berries sang with color and i loved the guy on top, who kept his stem on the pick.

image: a sink full of berries for washing... water, a hint of motion, and tons of poppy color. yummy!

image: this berry still has its flower feel.
